Seminar 2 Protecting quality in international education: International student support and engagement Chair: Sean Ryan, Director, Re-registration and CRICOS, TEQSA International students studying at Australian higher education institutions and beyond make significant contributions to the Australian community. To support international students in their life and study in Australia, providers need to engage students and understand their challenges as well as their specific needs. This session presents a current research project on good practice in international student engagement and discusses how support and engagement ensures quality in international education. | Seminar 4 Mini-Masterclass: Contract cheating detection and deterrence Chair: Dr Lenka Ucnik, Assistant Director, Higher Education Integrity Unit, TEQSA After the success of TEQSA’s national workshops supporting the online TEQSA Masterclass: Contract cheating detection and deterrence, we bring together some of Australia’s leading academic integrity experts to deliver this one-time mini-Masterclass. The session allows participants to explore a variety of academic integrity issues and best practice for deterring and detecting contract cheating. Note: This session is not recommended for those who have already attended an in-person Masterclass workshop. |

Seminar 3 Safeguarding student wellbeing: Cultural, physical and emotional safety for First Nations students Chairs: Josephine Busari, Acting Director, Registration and Courses, TEQSA, and Graem Kelly, Assistant Director, Policy and Research, TEQSA First Nations students face a range of barriers to entering and progressing through higher education, including cultural safety. Cultural safety is about creating a space for students that fosters shared meaning, knowledge, support and respect. Join our panel of Australian experts on the cultural, physical and emotional safety of First Nations students in higher education and explore practical ways to support these students throughout the student lifecycle. |
